Will Tyson "Go Off" Tonight?

Tyson

Mike Tyson will no doubt be remembered, but the question as the aging fighter nears the end of his career is how history will rate him as a boxer.

Will it be as one of the sport's all-time great heavyweights or as the ear-biting bully who sometimes lost his heart when a rival hit back?

Tyson is now on a quest to regain the heavyweight title after an 11-month layoff that began when he was knocked out in the fourth round by journeyman Danny Williams of England. Saturday night at MCI Center, Tyson (50-5, 44 KOs) meets unheralded native Irishman Kevin McBride (32-4-1, 27 knockouts) of Brockton, Mass. Sun-Sentinel.com

Pocono 500

Coming off his series-high fourth win of the season, Greg Biffle will be looking for his fifth win on Sunday when he takes to the track in the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Biffle held off Kyle Busch and Mark Martin to take the checkered flag in last weekend’s event, the MBNA RacePoints 400 at Dover International Speedway. Jimmie Johnson was fourth on the day, and Rusty Wallace ended up in fifth place.

The win by Biffle trimmed Johnson’s lead atop the driver standings to 46 points. Elliott Sadler sits third in the standings after 13 events, followed by Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart. Martin, Wallace, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, and Kevin Harvick round out the top ten. Jeff Gordon, Jeremy Mayfield, and Jamie McMurray are also currently contenders for the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

Unlike Biffle, Johnson has had success at Pocono in the past. Johnson won both the Pocono 500 and the Pennsylvania 500 on the Long Pond track last season, and will be looking to make it three victories in a row on Sunday.

Newman and Stewart visited victory lane at Pocono in 2003. Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Mayfield, and Wallace have multiple wins at Pocono in their careers.

After racing in Pennsylvania, the drivers of NASCAR head over to Michigan International Speedway to take part in the Batman Begins 400 on June 19th.

Can the Pistons go the distance? All five of their regular starters played at least 2,600 minutes during the regular season. Over the last 30 years, only two other teams had five 2,600-minute players: the 1983-1984 Washington Bullets and the 1993-1994 Denver Nuggets.

The Pistons' regular starting lineup (Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace) played 1,397 minutes together this season --more than any other five-man combination on any NBA team.

Detroit has held six opponents to 66 points or fewer in playoff games over the last five years. All other teams combined have done so three times during that span.

With their 111-108 win at Phoenix in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, the Spurs became only the third team in NBA history to win the first two games of a playoff series on the road after having trailed entering the fourth quarter in each game.

Bodog.com Posts Belmont Stakes Odds; Favors Afleet Alex

Coming off his victory in the Preakness, three-year-old colt Afleet Alex is the 5/6 favorite to wín Saturday’s Belmont Stakes at leading online sportsbook, racebook, casíno and poker site Bodog.com. Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo is not far behind at 7/2, and Reverberate, making his third start in 34 days is listed at 6/1. For the most up-to-date odds visit: BoDog.com.

“Online sports betting has reached unprecedented levels. This year our Triple Crown wagering has grown by 300 percent,” said Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com. “We expect Saturday’s race day wagering growth to match that of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.” Bodog.com took in more than $800,000 in wagers for the Kentucky Derby and $500,000 for the Preakness.

Race fans looking for a big payout on Saturday can pick maiden (one who has never won a race) Nolan’s Cat. History, however, will be working against the 50/1 long shot, as no maiden has won the Belmont Stakes in its 134-year history. Bet on the Belmont Today - BoDog.com
