Thoughts On Tiger
Tiger Woods went into the record books again this weekend when his record streak of 142 cuts made snapped at the Byron Nelson.

Tiger made 142 consecutive tournaments in a row where he's played on the weekend. He hadn’t missed a cut since 1998, and even that's a little sketchy because Tiger withdrew from the final two rounds of the 1998 AT&T event at Pebble Beach and that counts as a missed cut, even thought he was going to be right there.

The last time he really missed the cut, due to poor play was in 1997 at the '97 Canadian Open. That was his only real missed cut in his 10 years on tour until this weekend.

Because this isn’t baseball, or football, Tiger's record doesn’t get nearly the respect it deserves. The guy didn't have one bad week for 142 tourneys, consecutively? How is that even possible?

Even when he was fighting it, and not winning events, it wasn’t like the guy was shooting super high numbers and going home after the first round. Even when he sucked, he was good enough to stay around and play on the weekend.

This weeks PGA Tour Lines and ODDS.

Live Preakness Betting Online
Giacomo, High Fly and Wilko all breezed at Churchill Downs Tuesday morning. Scrappy T settled into the Preakness Stakes barn after arriving from Delaware Park Monday afternoon. Three flights from Churchill Downs Wednesday will bring eight Preakness horses to Pimlico. Horses from the first flight, including Greeley’s Galaxy and Going Wild, are due in at 9:30 a.m.
Horses on the second flight, including Giacomo, Wilko and High Limit, are due in at 1 p.m. Horses on the third flight, including High Fly, Noble Causeway and Sun King, are due in at 4 p.m.

NOTE: There are 10 Preakness probables coming out of the Kentucky Derby. That ties the record set in 1999, when the Preakness field of 13 included 10 horses who started in the Run for the Roses.

WE'll preview as many horses as we can here this week. Starting with the Live Kentucky Derby Betting winner - Giacomo

GIACOMO – When trainer John Shirreffs arrived at the Churchill Downs backstretch Tuesday morning and checked on Giacomo, he decided to send his Kentucky Derby winner to the track for a half-mile workout.

“I was kind of debating whether to breeze him, but he’s doing so good, I went ahead and breezed him,” Shirreffs said. Giacomo, with regular exercise rider Frankie Herrarte aboard, was clocked in :51.80 for a workout that was well attended by reporters and cameramen. “I trained him very hard for the Derby, so I didn’t want to do too much with him,” Shirreffs said.

The son of Holy Bull, who pulled off a 50-1 upset under jockey Mike Smith in the Kentucky Derby, could be overlooked as a threat to win the Preakness and sweep the Triple Crown. “I understand what the press is saying and some people are saying, I guess,’’ said Shirreffs, who trains Giacomo for owners Jerry and Ann Moss. “But, that being said, they were all in the gate, and Giacomo won the race.” Giacomo is scheduled to board a Baltimore-bound plane Wednesday morning at 10:30 due to arrive at Pimlico at 1 p.m.

How to Play Blackjack
The object of blackjack is to acheive a score of 21 or as close to 21 as possible without going over. The player competes with the dealer, where the dealer is the house, and follows a set of house rules. To bet, place any number of chips in front of you (be aware of the min/max bets of the table before you start playing) the player is then delt 2 cards face up, while the dealer deals himself the first card up, and the second down.

All face cards have a value of 10, cards 2-9 are face value, and aces can count as 1 or 11, depending upon the rest of the player's or dealer's hand.

If the dealer's card is an ace, the player has the option of placing a side bet called "insurance". This bet is half of the player's initial bet and pays 2 to 1 if the dealer has blackjack. The dealer then checks the hole card to see if it's a value of 10. If the dealer doesn't have blackjack the bet is lost. If he does, the player loses the insurance bet as well as the table bet.

If the dealer does not have an ace upcard, betting continues and the player has the following options:

The player sticks with whatever cards have been dealt, this happens when the player is contempt with what he/she is holding, or feels as though the dealer has a good chance of busting.

The player takes an additional card to add to the existing hand.

The player doubles their bet and is dealt only one more card. This is only an option on the initiall 2 card hand.

If the player is dealt 2 cards of equal value (ie. 2 aces) he has the option of splitting them into 2 seperate hands. An additional bet for the new hand equal to the first bet. Now there are 2 hands available for the player to wager on. Blackjack does not pay 3 to 2 in this case.

The player has the option to give up half of the initial bet instead of playing out the hand. Surrendering is only avaible on the initall 2 card hand. This option is not available at every casino, check the rules before you start playing.

If a player's hand reaches a sum greater than 21, they bust. If the player is dealt an ace and a card with a value of 10, this is blackjack and the player is automatically credited (most casinos pay 3 to 2 for blackjack). However, if the dealer has blackjack as well, it's a push.

After all players have played their hands, it is the dealer's turn to play out his hand. The dealer has no options on how to play out his hand, he follows a set of rules provided by the casino (house rules). If the dealer busts, everyone at the table who didn't bust, wins. If a player's hand is higher than the dealers without going over 21, they win. If the dealer has a higher hand than the player without going over 21, the dealer wins. If the player and dealer tie, the player's bet is returned and is called a push.

NBA Update
With the Eastern Conference finals not scheduled to start until at least Monday, the Miami Heat don't appear overly bothered by Shaquille O'Neal's still-uncertain health.

O'Neal, plagued for a month by a thigh bruise, missed the final two games of the East semifinal sweep of Washington. He did some cardio work Tuesday with the team, which plans to resume full-fledged practices Wednesday. It's unknown if O'Neal will be ready.

This is a best-of-seven series with Game 6 scheduled for Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Sonics Spurs Tuesday Betting Game Of the Night

The San Antonio Spurs are hoping they can regain their winning form at home Tuesday night after they dropped two games versus the SuperSonics in Seattle to fall into a 2-2 series tie.

The Sonics were without All-Star forward Rashard Lewis in game four and his status for game five will be a game-time decision. The roadies are big underdogs here, getting 10 points from oddsmakers. The Spurs sport a 65-26 record, while the SuperSonics are 58-33. The total opened at 186.

Seattle won at home against the Spurs last game as 7 point underdogs, tallying a score of 101-89. The total sailed over. San Antonio, on the other hand, are home to shake off a loss last time out against Seattle. They were 7 point favorites and ended up on the wrong end of a 101-89 score, in a game that went over the closing total.
