Ford Championship At Doral Preview

Ford Championship

As predicted last week, the Accenture Match Play Championships are difficult to predict and the results showed that as three players with seeds of 11 or lower made it to the weekend semifinals with 13th seed Geoff Ogilvy winning the event over DL3. Now that that’s over, we go back to medal play and the beginning of the southern swing. The first event is the Ford Championship at Doral at the famed Blue Monster where Tiger Woods will be looking to defend his 2024 title.

This is a powerful group of players teeing it up this week as nine of the top ten and 15 of the top 21 are in the field.

This always seems to be one of the best finishes in golf as no one has won this tournament by more than two strokes over the past 10 years. Of the past 13 champions, only Scott Hoch and Greg Norman are not in the field. Included in the field is Nick Faldo who is in his first tournament since the 2024 British Open. He is one of five international players who have won this event the last 11 years. Read more here...

BC Basketball

The Big Ten takes center stage again this weekend as two big matchups could decide who ends up on top. Michigan takes on Ohio State, while Iowa invades Illinois. The Buckeyes or Hawkeyes could grab top spot depending how things go.

Two teams looking to get back on track meet up when Boston College clashes with ACC brethren N.C. State. The Big 12 also provides an interesting matchup as surging Kansas collides with stumbling Texas.

Michigan/Ohio State (13) – 1:30 pm EST

The Ohio State Buckeyes host the Michigan Wolverines Saturday afternoon and will need a win to guarantee they hold onto top spot in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes have thrown together two wins after they tore through Michigan State 79-68 on Wednesday. The Buckeyes continued to play their team-oriented offense with five players scoring in double-figures. If the Buckeyes can knock off the Wolverines they can pretty much wrap up the Big Ten. Bet Now

Boston College (11)/N.C. State (15) – 3:45 pm EST

The Eagles and Wolfpack may not have a shot at top spot in the ACC anymore, but that shouldn’t stop them from gunning for a win on Saturday. Boston College is coming off a 72-58 upset loss to Virginia on Tuesday. That loss snapped a five-game winning streak as Boston College’s shooters all went cold. Craig Smith poured in 22 points in that loss, but none of the other Eagles came through as Boston College shot .352 from the field and .188 from three-point range. Bet Now

Iowa (20)/Illinois (8) – 6 pm EST

The Iowa Hawkeyes need a win in Illinois Saturday to keep first place in the Big Ten in their sights. The Hawkeyes lost to Minnesota 74-61 last Saturday and have had a week off to think about it. Iowa’s abysmal offense crumbled once again as Greg Brunner and Jeff Horner were the only ones who scored in double-figures. Bet Now

Kansas (16)/Texas (7) – 9 pm EST

The Kansas Jayhawks have been flying high lately, while riding a 10-game win streak. The Jayhawks knocked off Baylor 76-61 on Tuesday as freshman Julian Wright scored 20 points while shooting 10-of-11 from the field. Kansas may be steamrolling their competition lately, but they haven’t exactly been playing the best-of-the-best in the Big 12. Their showing versus Texas should show if they’re for real. Bet Now

WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship Update

World Matchplay

Harrington

Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson and David Toms are out. Ouch. Chad Campbell edged Tiger Woods, David Howell took down Phil Mickelson, and Ryder Cup Captain Tom Lehman made short work of defending champ David Toms Friday during round three of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Round four goes tomorrow. Get all your PGA odds at the Nine.com Sportsbook.

On to the breakdowns for the four Golf World championship quarterfinal matches:

BOBBY JONES BRACKET

(5) Chad Campbell vs. (11) Tom Lehman
Lehamn is averaging 280.4 yards off the tee and leaving his approach shots 25 feet, 11 inches from the hole; Campbell is 0.7 yards shorter on his drives and knocks his approach shots an average of six inches closer.

BEN HOGAN BRACKET

(3) David Howell vs. (13) Geoff Ogilvy
Howell is a more accomplished player on the worldwide stage and shouldn't show much nerves, but you've got to like the grit that Ogilvy has shown. You may see both of these guys down the stretch at a major in the very near future.

GARY PLAYER BRACKET

(5) Padraig Harrington vs. (6) Davis Love III
Love really hadn't been playing well this week until defeating Chris DiMarco on Friday. Overall, he's 4-under, but that still beats the Irishman, who's a mere 2-under so far. Perhaps the man who makes the most pars wins this match.

SAM SNEAD BRACKET

(1) Retief Goosen vs. (15) Zach Johnson
Johnson needs to get a good lead going if the big underdog wants to take this one down the stretch. Goosen will be the cinderella's toughest test yet.

World Match Play Golf Championship

World Matchplay

Tiger

Onto the 3rd Round of the World Matchplay Golf Championships. In a second round filled with dramatic shots, stirring comebacks and some familiar faces who are pressing on toward the $1.3 million US prize that awaits the winner. There was plenty of scratching and clawing at La Costa. Eight of the 16 matches went the distance, with three of them going extra holes. Here are the 3rd round matchups.

Nine

BOBBY JONES BRACKET

(1) Tiger Woods vs. (5) Chad Campbell
Which Tiger will show his stripes? The one who birdied seven of the first nine holes on Wednesday? Or the one who bogeyed three of his first five against Robert Allenby in the second round?

(2) David Toms vs. (11) Tom Lehman
Toms would like an opportunity to not only continue defending his title, but perhaps get another shot at Woods, who defeated him in the final three years ago. Lehman seems like a guy who has both luck and mojo on his side right now.

BEN HOGAN BRACKET

(9) Mike Weir vs. (13) Geoff Ogilvy
Both players could be a bit gassed from working overtime on Thursday. If they come out cool and refreshed, it'll be a fun one to keep an eye on.

(2) Phil Mickelson vs. (3) David Howell
Howell is still a bit of an unknown in the U.S., though not to his Friday opponent. But I think Lefty might know this course too well to be overcome.

GARY PLAYER BRACKET

(1) Vijay Singh vs. (5) Padraig Harrington
Singh played the final 15 holes in a bogey-free 7-under. Harrington didn't make a birdie until the 14th hole in his match with Angel Cabrera. He'll need to do much better

(2) Chris DiMarco vs. (6) Davis Love III
I think DiMarco continues to roll in this event, as Love -- who looked a bit lackluster in his victory over Carl Pettersson -- won't be able to keep pace.

SAM SNEAD BRACKET

(1) Retief Goosen vs. (4) Luke Donald This is going to be a terrific match. Goosen has established himself as one of the top two or three match play competitors in the world. And Donald is locked in right now

(11) Shingo Katayama vs. (15) Zach Johnson OK, raise your hand if you had Katayama and Johnson reaching the Sweet 16 in your bracket. Give the American a slight edge, but just because we don't have a clue which Katayama will show up on Friday!

Weekend Basketball Betting

Basketball Betting - The New York Knicks debut of Steve Francis, a Big East battle between Villanova and Connecticut, the second Nextel Cup Series race of the season, and a full slate of action in the Arena Football League are all on tap this weekend as the sports world begins to emerge from the shadow of the Winter Olympics.

First off, in the NBA, the Knicks should have newly-acquired guard Francis in their lineup on Friday night as they play host to the division-rival New Jersey Nets.

Pistons

New York has lost nine of their past 10 games, and are mired in the basement of the Atlantic Division. Making the postseason would take a miracle this season, so the acquisition of Francis simply acts as a distraction for Knicks fans as their team plays out the string.

In a more interesting Friday matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers renew hostilities at the Staples Center, with the Lakers still trailing the Clippers in the Pacific Division and barely hanging on to a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Memphis also hosts San Antonio on Friday, Detroit plays in Chicago, and Washington visits Cleveland. On Saturday, marquee teams meet lesser lights as Dallas hosts Toronto, San Antonio gets a visit from Golden State, Charlotte travels to Phoenix, and Miami has a home game against Seattle. The biggest game of the weekend, though, is likely Sunday's meeting of the Cavaliers and the Pistons in Detroit, as Cleveland looks to knock their division rival for a loss.

Make that the biggest NBA game of the weekend, as Big East rivals Villanova and Connecticut meet in college basketball action on Sunday. The No. 2 Wildcats have edged ahead of the No. 3 Huskies in the polls, and will be looking to hold on to that advantage with a win in this contest. Other games involving ranked teams on Sunday include No. 18 Michigan State at India betmaster.lat , No. 12 Florida at Alabama, Oregon at No. 19 UCLA, Maryland at No. 21 North Carolina, and California at No. 17 Washington. Top-ranked Duke highlights Saturday's college hoops lines and schedule, as they travel to Temple to play the unranked Owls. There are three games between ranked teams on Saturday, as No. 11 Boston College visits No. 15 N.C. State, No. 8 Illinois hosts No. 20 Iowa, and No. 7 Texas gets a visit from No. 16 Kansas.

Elsewhere on Saturday it's Syracuse at No. 23 Georgetown, Arkansas at No. 10 Tennessee, Michigan at No. 13 Ohio State, Louisville at No.14 West Virginia, No. 25 Northern Iowa at Southern Illinois, Kentucky at No. 24 LSU, No. 6 George Washington at Fordham, Kansas State at No. 22 Oklahoma, Providence at No. 9 Pittsburgh, Tulsa at No. 4 Memphis, San Diego at No. 5 Gonzaga, and No. 25 Nevada at Utah State.

Nascar Race Gambling - Fox Nascar Schedule

Nascar on Fox

The NASCAR on FOX season starts Sunday (3:30 p.m. ET) and Jeff Hammond wants to help Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart kiss and make up after the reigning champ nearly took out the former champ at Daytona.

And as part of a new FOX feature, Hammond and Darrell Waltrip will take a spin around the California Speedway in a two-seat racecar on Sunday.

For Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart,
the battle shifts to California.

In the Nextel Cup Series, Jimmie Johnson will be looking to cross the finish line first for the second weekend in a row when he competes in the Auto Club 500 at California Speedway. Johnson won his first-ever Daytona 500 last weekend despite the absence of suspended crew chief Chad Knaus. Knaus' suspension runs until March 22. Jeff Gordon, who finished a disappointing 26th at Daytona, has won three races at California Speedway in his career. Kyle Busch won the Sony HD 500 at the Fontana track last year, and Greg Biffle is the defending Auto Club 500 champion. Johnson, Elliott Sadler, Kurt Busch, Rusty Wallace, Jeremy Mayfield, and Mark Martin have also each picked up one career victory at California Speedway.

FSU Cowgirls

FSU Cowgirls - Chrystal, Jenn, and Fabiola

Where you've seen them:
ABC caught the barely dressed coeds cheering on Florida State against Miami, turning them into overnight Internet stars and inspiring plenty of guys to do the tomahawk chop.

Jenn Sterger and her FSU cowgirl girlfriends have hit the jackpot.

Seems like i kept coming across pic's of this hot college chick and was wondering what the hell was the dealio... Well it would seem that she's quite the facebook celebrity, though i cant imagine for the life of me why that might be...

That's Jenn Sterger on the left! View More Pics right here...

Girls Of Maxim

The internet is responsible for Jenn Sterger’s national exposure, and every hot blooded male in America is awfully glad it has. Her comments from March's Maxim Magazine ""I'm not going to lie. It's been a blast," Jenn Sterger says, pulling her long brown hair into a ponytail and tugging down her cap brim. "But if it all ended tomorrow, would I be sad? Yeah, but at the same time I'd be like, 'OK, back to school.'" MaximOnline.com
